Silicone Sealant Application Instructions

Spectrem® 2 Silicone Sealant

Description: Spectrem® 2 is a high-performance, single-component, neutral-cure, medium-modulus silicone sealant designed for various caulking and glazing applications.

Basic Uses:

• Ideal for perimeter caulking and 2-sided structural glazing.
• Suitable for substrates like aluminum, glass, steel, painted metal, plastic, stone, concrete, and brick.

Features & Benefits:

• Medium modulus for use as a structural tensile bead and weather sealant.
• Excellent adhesion to glass and metal.
• Tested for compatibility with Tremco’s Silicone Compatible Rubber Extrusions and SGT-900/SGT-2000 tapes.
• Ready-to-use with no mixing required.
• Resistant to driving rain, ozone, UV light, and temperature extremes.
• Available in a wide variety of colours, with custom colours and colour matching available.

Specifications:

• Meets or exceeds ASTM C920, ASTM C1248, ASTM C1184, U.S. Federal Specifications TT-S-001543A and TT-S-00230C, CAN/CGSB 19.13-M87.
• Black color meets AAMA 802.3-92, 805.2-94, and 808.3-92 standards.

Colours: Available in Adobe Tan, Aluminum Stone, Anodized Aluminum, Black, Bronze, Buff, Champagne, Charcoal, Clear, Dark Bronze, Gray, Ivory, Light Bronze, Limestone, Off White, Precast White, Rustic Brick, Sandstone, and White. (Note: Not all colours are available in all package sizes. Minimum quantities may apply.)

Limitations:

• Do not apply to damp or contaminated surfaces.
• Not intended for continuous water immersion.
• Use with adequate ventilation.
• Only Black Spectrem 2 is recommended for structural glazing applications.
