Using Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) technology, the bags release invisible, odorless VCI molecules that settle onto exposed metal surfaces inside the packaging. When the bag is removed, the VCI dissipates from the metal surface, allowing parts to proceed directly to painting, welding, or further processing.

Packaging and Usage Recommendations

For effective corrosion protection, follow the manufacturer's operating guidance:

1. Pack only clean, dry metal parts.

2. Wear clean, dry gloves when handling components to help prevent corrosion-causing fingerprints.

3. Allow metal parts to reach approximately room temperature before packaging to help prevent condensation.

4. Close packages tightly using suitable tape, heat sealing, zip ties, or folded closures.

5. For larger, tightly packed, or layered packages, consider compatible ZERUST VCI materials, such as ICT420-35 VCI Kraft Paper, as an interleave.

6. Avoid placing metal surfaces directly against wood or cardboard, which can be sources of moisture and acid.

Storage and Handling

Store VCI bags in their original packaging in a cool, dry location away from sunlight. The manufacturer specifies storage for up to three years from the date of shipment under the recommended conditions.

Important: These bags are intended for indoor protection and are not recommended for outdoor use. Consult the manufacturer's technical data sheet for application-specific guidance.
